A. Accetturo
By August 1982 Anthony Accetturo served as Abate's Acting Captain.

Late that month crew member Joseph LaMorte was inducted into the Lucchese Family under Accetturo's sponsorship.

CW Alfonso D'Arco, who was made in the same ceremony and who subsequently rose to Acting Boss before defecting in 1991, later testified: "Joe LaMorte was sponsored by the Jersey faction, his Captain at that time was Anthony Accetturo [who was] an Acting Captain at that time...[The] old captain was Joe Abate, but Accetturo was doing all the running around. Joe was old."

By the mid-to-late 1980s Abate stepped down as Captain and was officially succeeded by Accetturo.

John Gotti Sr. Wake (1992)

Surveillance photographs taken during the wake of Gambino Boss John Gotti's father held June 27-28, 1992 at James Romanelli - Stephens Funeral Home at 89-01 Rockaway Blvd in Jamaica, Queens.

Gotti had been sentenced to life imprisonment only a few days prior.

Gambino Captain Pasquale 'Pat' Conte (top, center) with at least two made members of his crew, Domenico 'Italian Dom' Cefalu and Francesco 'Cheech' Versaglio (1925-2008).

Conte, born 1925 in Palermo and a Captain since the early 1960s, sponsored Cefalu for membership in November 1990.

His father was Former Gambino Underboss Antonino 'Nino' Conte (1902-1958).

Indicted the following year on Federal racketeering charges, Conte pleaded guilty after initially receiving a mistrial in the case.

Versaglio, who had unsuccessfully attempted to reestablish a Sicilian heroin connection during Gotti's time on the street, was subpoenaed to appear at Conte's trial and refused to answer questions while on the stand. As a result he was convicted of criminal contempt and served three years in Federal prison.

Following his conviction Conte was succeeded as Captain by Domenico Cefalu.

Around 2011 Cefalu was elected the Gambino Family's new Boss, a position he is believed to still hold.

D. Pizzonia (L) and I. Alogna
Gambino Soldiers Dominick 'Skinny Dom' Pizzonia and Ignazio 'Iggy' Alogna (1933-2016).

At the time both men, inducted in 1988 and 1986 respectively, were believed to be reporting to John Gotti's younger brother Peter (1939-2021).

Alogna was promoted to Captain over a separate crew within a year or two of this wake.

P. Gotti (L) and V. Corrao
Gambino Captain Peter Gotti and Soldier Vincent 'Vinny Butch' Corrao.

Corrao, son of Captain Joseph 'Joe Butch' Corrao, was made in the same November 1990 ceremony as Domenico Cefalu and Louis Scida (below).

At the time of the wake he was reporting to John Gotti's son, John A. 'Junior' Gotti.

Gambino Soldier Louis 'Brother' Scida (1936-2011) and his Captain, Nicholas 'Nicky' Corozzo, with Frank Citriniti (ph).

Corozzo, himself inducted in 1977, sponsored Scida for membership in November 1990.

D. Pizzonia (L) and V. Asaro
Gambino Soldier Dominick Pizzonia and Bonanno Soldier Vincent Asaro (1935-2023).

Asaro, made in 1977, was at the time a member of Bonanno Captain Salvatore Vitale's crew.

The following year both he and Vitale received promotions to Captain and Underboss respectively.

L to R: R. Pellegrino, J. D'Amico, M. DiLeonardo
Gambino Associate Robert Pellegrino, Captain 'Jackie Nose' D'Amico and Acting Captain Michael DiLeonardo.

A made member since the late 1970s, D'Amico took over Olympio 'Lilo' Garofalo's crew following the latter's death in 1986 and was one of John Gotti's close associates.

Michael DiLeonardo, sponsored for membership by D'Amico in 1988, was named Acting Captain of this crew following Underboss Salvatore Gravano's defection in late 1991.

Around 1993 DiLeonardo was named official Captain of a newly formed, separate crew.

R. Trucchio (L) and Unsubs
Gambino Soldier Ronald 'Ronnie One-Arm' Trucchio with Unsubs.

Trucchio was a partner with Gambino Soldier Joseph 'Jo Jo' Corozzo (1941-2024) in a social club located on 101st Ave in Ozone Park, Queens.

He began reporting to Corozzo after the latter's promotion to Captain sometime within the next couple of years.
