FBI surveillance photographs of San Jose Captain Angelo Marino and San Jose Soldier Anthony 'Toni' Maggio taken around the early 1970s.
Angelo Marino (1924-1983), son of San Jose Captain and Former Pittsburgh Member Salvatore Marino (1898-1974) from Santa Flavia, Palermo, took over his father's crew by late 1961.
Around 1978 Emanuel 'Manny' Figlia was appointed Underboss, possibly leaving Angelo as the Family's sole remaining Captain. (It's not clear whether Figlia retained his crew.)
Marino was also the last confirmed member in the Family's history to hold that rank. He died in early 1983.
Anthony Maggio (1905-1988), Angelo Marino's uncle and a Soldier in the Marino crew, was a former member of Philadelphia's Bruno Family before transferring to San Jose.
Marino married the daughter of Anthony's older brother Michele Maggio, an influential Bruno Member who is believed to have served in that Family's administration before his death in 1959. (The Maggios were from Campobello di Mazara in Trapani, Sicily.)
FBI reports on the San Jose Family from the following decade note that by 1984, Anthony Maggio represented the Family in meetings with other LCN figures and may have been the Family's unofficial (?) leader at that time.
Listed as a Soldier in Family charts / membership lists from 1985 and 1993, he died in April 1998.
